Rishi Sunak: New PM of UK.

 Hello reader's🙏🏻 welcome to today's blog. Today we will read about  RISHI SUNAK. The new PM of UNITED KINGDOM. He was appointed as leader of conservative party since 24 oct 2022.

He served as chancellor of exchequer in 2010-2022.He served as chief secretary of treasury from 2019-2020.He is also serving as member of Parliament.He completed his education from Winchester College and lincoln college. He studied philosophy, politics and economics. He completed his MBA from Stanford University. His wife is Akshata murthy who is the daughter of N. R Narayan Murthy. They are in 22nd richest people in Britain.

Early life:

Rishi sunak was  born on 12 may 1980 in Southampton general hospital. He migrated to Britain from East Africa in 1960s. He completed his education 

He was elected to House of commons in 2015 general election. He voted 3 times for Brexit's withdrawal agreement.

After Borris Johnson became PM, Sunak was appointed as Chief secretary to the treasury. He resigned as Chancellor in july 2022.

Sunak was elected unopposed as leader of the conservative party. Officially he was appointed as PM on 25th October 2022.

He was born to African born hindu parents of Indian punjabi descent. Their names were Yashvir and Usha Sunak.Rishi was the eldest of 3 siblings. His grandfather was of Punjab province and his name was Ramdas Sunak. He lived in Gujranwala which is currently in Pakistan.

Sunak studied in Stroud School which was the preparatory school in Romsey. He completed his college in Winchesters College.

He even worked as a waiter at a curry house in SouthAmpton during his summer holidays.

Business:

He worked as a analyst for the investment bank which is Goldman Sacchs between 2001 and 2004.

He worked in Hedge fund management in children's investment fund management.

Political Career:

He was a candidate of conservative party in Oct 2014.He defeated Wendy Morton to become a leader. Sunak was re-elected at 2014 general election.

He supported Borris Johnson in 2019 during conservative party leadership election. He served chief secretary to the treasury on 24th july 2019.

Books written:

He published a book with Saratha Rajeshwaran in May 2014.The name of the book was " A portrait of Modern Britain". The book portrayed demography, social change and ethnic groups."

The second book was based on Brexit.

"The free ports oppurtunity how Brexit could boost trade, manufacturing and the North.

The third book was: "A new era for retail bonds: How our savings could help SME's growth".

Facts/ Trivia :

1.Sunak is the UK's first Indian Origin Chancellor of the Exchequer.

2.Sunak took part in the election campaign of the condervative party in 2014 before entering politics.

3.He took the oath in the HOUSE OF COMMONS by the BHAGVAD GITA.

4.He was always enthusiastic about Sports. He was a fan of South Ampton football club and England cricket team.

5.He is obsessed with coca-cola and is addict.

6.His favourite subject is economics.

7.He is locally labelled as" Maharaja of Dales".
